As a Credit Controller, you’ll take ownership of a defined portfolio of customer accounts, including aged and legacy debt across acquired and historic portfolios. Reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in driving cash collection, reducing overdue balances, and protecting the business from credit risk. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys investigating complex accounts, resolving disputes, and working proactively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the best commercial outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Take ownership of a defined portfolio of customer accounts, including aged and legacy debt
Drive cash collection, reduce overdue balances, and protect the business from credit risk
Investigate complex accounts and resolve disputes
Work proactively with internal and external stakeholders
Manage high-value and long-outstanding balances
Deliver effective collection activity in line with agreed KPIs
Negotiate repayment plans where appropriate
Prepare reports and case summaries
Escalate matters when required
Maintain clear audit trails and up-to-date system records
Requirements:
2–3 years’ experience in a credit control or credit risk role
Experience managing high-volume or complex ledgers
Strong numerical accuracy and reconciliation skills
Confidence handling aged debt, disputes, and repayment negotiations
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
The confidence to engage with senior stakeholders when needed
