Job Description

At Safetykleen, we help businesses operate more safely, responsibly and efficiently through our parts cleaning, waste collection and environmental advisory services. We are looking for a Legal Coordinator to join our Billing and Credit Control team. This role plays an important part in protecting the business by supporting debt recovery, managing legal account activity and helping resolve customer account issues professionally and fairly. This is a role for someone who can balance commercial focus with good judgement. You will be dealing with sensitive customer account situations, so how you communicate, investigate and follow through matters.

Job Responsibility

  • Reviewing customer accounts to understand the position, identify risk and recommend the right next steps
  • Managing debt recovery activity through clear, professional communication with customers and internal teams
  • Liaising with third-party legal providers where accounts require formal escalation
  • Supporting the resolution of customer disputes by gathering information, checking account history and keeping clear records
  • Managing insolvency, administration, liquidation and receivership cases
  • Keeping credit control systems accurate and up to date, with clear notes and actions
  • Processing customer payments and supporting account administration linked to legal cases
  • Carrying out credit checks to help assess customer credit limits and reduce future risk
  • Working with colleagues across the business to identify recurring issues and help prevent them happening again
  • Providing updates on legal and debt recovery activity when required

Requirements

  • Experience in credit control, debt management and collections
  • Confidence handling customer account issues, disputes or escalated debt cases
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A calm, methodical approach when dealing with sensitive or challenging situations
  • Good attention to detail and accurate record keeping
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A full driving licence
