Job Description

Robert Half is partnering with our healthcare client in the heart of the Columbia Gorge. We are looking for a detail-oriented Credentials Coordinator to support medical staff credentialing activities for a position in The Dalles, Oregon. This role serves as a key connection point between providers, medical staff leadership, and administration, helping ensure appointments and reappointments are processed accurately and on schedule. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, sound judgment when handling confidential records, and experience working within healthcare compliance standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage the end-to-end processing of practitioner applications, reappointments, and privileging documentation for assigned service areas
  • Communicate with licensing boards, educational institutions, references, and affiliated organizations to obtain and confirm required credentialing information
  • Review submitted materials for completeness, resolve missing or inconsistent details, and maintain progress toward credentialing deadlines
  • Monitor expiration dates for licenses, certifications, and related provider documents to support timely renewal and continued compliance
  • Prepare and maintain confidential practitioner files, ensuring records are accurate, organized, and accessible for audits or committee review
  • Support medical staff committees and leadership by coordinating documentation, routing materials for review, and following up on required approvals
  • Maintain provider information within credentialing databases and online systems, keeping profiles current and aligned with organizational standards
  • Assist with periodic review and update processes related to medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and other governing documents
  • Act as a liaison between medical staff members and organizational departments to address credentialing questions and facilitate clear communication.

Requirements

  • Certification in Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is required
  • Previous experience in provider credentialing, medical staff services, or a related healthcare administrative function is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • an associate degree or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience is also preferred
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, credential verification practices, and accreditation-related standards is preferred
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of accuracy in documentation
