Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Credentials Coordinator for a Contract position based in Saint Helena, California. In this role, you will support the medical staff credentialing process by coordinating documentation, verifying qualifications, and helping ensure providers are cleared for appointment and privileging activities. This opportunity is well suited to someone who can manage sensitive information carefully, work within established compliance standards, and keep multiple credentialing tasks moving on schedule.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate credentialing and recredentialing activities for physicians and allied health professionals, including gathering required documentation and tracking each file through completion
  • Conduct primary source verification and review submitted materials to help ensure provider records are accurate, complete, and ready for processing
  • Maintain organized credentialing files and databases, updating records promptly to support audits, reporting, and timely renewals
  • Assist with privileging-related workflows and support evaluation or proctoring steps as required for medical staff appointments
  • Guide providers through onboarding activities such as access setup, orientation coordination, required training, and identification badging
  • Apply medical staff bylaws, internal policies, and regulatory standards when processing credentialing actions and maintaining documentation
  • Safeguard confidential provider and medical staff information while handling sensitive records and correspondence
  • Provide administrative support for additional credentialing or medical staff services tasks as needed to meet departmental priorities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • an associate degree, technical training, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience is preferred
  • Previous experience in medical staff services, credentialing, or a related healthcare administrative setting is preferred
  • Working knowledge of credentialing processes such as appointments, reappointments, primary source verification, and privileging is preferred
  • Ability to manage detailed records with a high level of accuracy, organization, and follow-through
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, medical staff rules, and policy-based documentation practices is preferred
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to support provider onboarding, scheduling, and cross-functional follow-up
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Must be able to meet employment requirements, including vaccination policies where applicable and participation in E-Verify
