To provide outpatient counseling services under direct supervision as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team caring for individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) as well as patients with co-occurring mental health disorders (COD) and their families when indicated.
Job Responsibility:
Provide outpatient counseling services under direct supervision as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team for individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring mental health disorders (COD)
Perform intake evaluations and assessments
Carry out individual counseling
Facilitate group therapy
Coordinate care and support with external entities
Maintain case records and documentation
Participate in staff development and informational activities
Mentor new staff and supervise interns
Perform other assigned duties such as milieu supervision, toxicology screen monitoring, and BAC tests
Requirements:
Master's degree in a discipline related to human services and 1 year of related experience in substance use disorder treatment setting required
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
NYS Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or (CASAC-T)
If CASAC-T upon hire, successful completion of examination and required hours to obtain full CASAC credential to remove the (T (training)) designation must be completed within 18 months of hire
