Job Description:

To provide outpatient counseling services under direct supervision as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team caring for individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) as well as patients with co-occurring mental health disorders (COD) and their families when indicated.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide outpatient counseling services under direct supervision as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team for individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring mental health disorders (COD)
  • Perform intake evaluations and assessments
  • Carry out individual counseling
  • Facilitate group therapy
  • Coordinate care and support with external entities
  • Maintain case records and documentation
  • Participate in staff development and informational activities
  • Mentor new staff and supervise interns
  • Perform other assigned duties such as milieu supervision, toxicology screen monitoring, and BAC tests

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a discipline related to human services and 1 year of related experience in substance use disorder treatment setting required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • NYS Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or (CASAC-T)
  • If CASAC-T upon hire, successful completion of examination and required hours to obtain full CASAC credential to remove the (T (training)) designation must be completed within 18 months of hire
