Job Description:

BTS@Koala Content Lab is a 12-week pilot designed to build Koala's internal creator capability through a category-led content system on TikTok (with Instagram Reels trials). We're bringing three TikTok-native creators in-house, embedded inside the brand, to produce high-velocity, platform-native short-form video that builds cultural relevance for Koala. All three creators will contribute to one TikTok channel (BTS@KoalaAU), with content filmed primarily at Koala HQ. The vibe is low-fi, authentic and office-native - bringing the Koala team, product and office culture to life. The office becomes the set.

Job Responsibility:

  • Create 3–5 short-form videos per week for the BTS@KoalaAU TikTok channel (with optional Instagram Reels trials)
  • Own end-to-end creative: concepting, filming, editing and publishing — platform-native and scroll-stopping
  • Mix planned content with reactive participation in trends and cultural moments
  • Tell stories across product, brand and office life — in-office product reveals, hands-on demos, team reactions, street interviews, couch confessions, rapid-fire staff Q&As, styling tips, day-in-the-life
  • Experiment with formats — test, learn, iterate. Find the hooks and formats that win
  • Participate in weekly creative reviews with the Brand team: share, collaborate, pressure-test ideas
  • Feed learnings back into Koala's paid creative loops

Requirements:

  • Currently studying Media, Digital Communication, Creative Industries, Journalism, Film/Screen Production or a related discipline at UNSW
  • TikTok-native — you live on the platform, understand what earns attention, and have a point of view on what makes content win (pattern interpretation, emotional hooks, memorability, shareability)
  • Comfortable on both sides of the camera — filming yourself, directing others, or both
  • Confident with short-form video editing (CapCut, Premiere, or similar)
  • A fast mover: you can go from idea to published content in hours, not days
  • Curious about brand, product and culture — you get why how a brand shows up matters
  • Comfortable being embedded inside a team, contributing ideas and taking creative feedback
  • A genuine interest in the creator economy, social-first storytelling and the future of brand content
What we offer:
  • Fully stocked kitchen with an emphasis on healthy local produce, think bougie brekky, salad bar, kombucha on tap, monthly barbies and more
  • Pet-friendly office
  • Surprise & delight
  • Access to Employee Assistance Program, which includes unlimited sessions for financial, work, relationship, family or wellbeing support
  • BCorp Certified, WWF Partnership, volunteer days, a member of SoftLanding, 1% and so much more
