Job Description

Justteachers is currently recruiting for a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school from September. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual considering a future career in teaching or education. The successful candidate will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task while maintaining a positive learning environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Support students with learning activities where appropriate
  • Record attendance and report any concerns to relevant staff
  • Promote a safe and productive learning environment
  • Assist with break duties and wider school activities as required

Requirements

  • Have experience working with children or young people
  • Demonstrate strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Be confident managing groups of students independently
  • Be flexible, organised and reliable
  • Have a genuine interest in education
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service
