Job Description:

Randstad Education is seeking talented individuals to join an Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in the heart of Upminster as a Cover Supervisor. Roles are offered on an ad-hoc basis when needed. This vital role offers an incredible opportunity to develop your classroom management skills, gain experience across multiple subjects, and become an integral part of a high-achieving school community.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage the Classroom: Supervise classes of students (Years 7-11) during short-term teacher absences, maintaining discipline and a productive learning environment
  • Deliver Pre-Set Work: Ensure students complete the work that has been assigned by the absent teacher, managing resources and providing general assistance
  • Enforce Policy: Uphold the school's high standards for student behaviour and safety across the school site
  • Report Progress: Record and report on student attendance and progress during the covered lesson to the relevant teaching staff

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children or students in a school, youth work, or similar educational/supervisory setting
  • High level of confidence and the ability to command respect and manage behaviour in a classroom setting
  • Successful candidates must have an Enhanced DBS check (full support provided by Randstad Education)
  • Available to take bookings on the day (from 7am) and in advance
