The Cover Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of student learning during short-term teacher absences. Job Responsibility:
Supervising pre-set work across various subjects and year groups
Managing classroom behaviour effectively and adhering to the school's policy
Ensuring students remain focused on their tasks and complete the work set
Promoting a positive and productive learning environment at all times
Responding to any immediate issues or emergencies that arise during the lesson
Explaining tasks and instructions clearly to students
Collecting completed student work and returning it to the appropriate department
Reporting any significant behaviour issues or concerns to the relevant staff member
Maintaining high professional standards and confidentiality
Supporting the overall daily operation of the school by being flexible and reliable
Requirements:
Prior experience working with secondary school-aged young people (e.g., in a paid or voluntary capacity)
A genuine passion for supporting young people's learning and development
Eligibility to work in the UK
Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)
Impeccable behaviour management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Proactive and resilient approach to challenges
