Job Description

We are officially on the lookout for dynamic, energetic Cover Supervisors to join fantastic secondary schools right across the Wirral. Whether you want to dive straight in with an immediate start or lock down an exciting new routine for September, we have the perfect school waiting for you.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise secondary school classes (Ages 11-16) in the absence of the classroom teacher
  • Deliver pre-set work and lesson plans left by the subject teacher
  • Maintain a focused, safe, and positive learning environment
  • Manage classroom behaviour efficiently using the school's behaviour policy
  • Assist students with their queries and keep them on-task
  • Collect completed work at the end of the lesson and return it to the department
  • Report back on any student achievements or behavioural issues using school systems.

Requirements

  • Experience working with groups of children (e.g., Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Coaching, tutoring, etc..) in either mainstream environments or SEN (Special Educational Needs) settings
  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one)
  • Strong presence and confidence to manage groups of students
  • Clear, assertive, and professional communication skills.
