Cover Supervisor

• Supervising classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a positive and productive learning environment
• Distributing and overseeing pre-prepared lesson materials and activities set by the subject teacher
• Ensuring students remain on task and understand the work they have been set
• Responding to students' questions and providing appropriate support
• Upholding the school's policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding and behaviour
• Providing feedback to the regular teacher on the progress of the lesson and any issues encountered

• Have a genuine interest in working with young people (typically aged 11-16)
• Possess strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students
• Are confident, adaptable, and able to use their initiative
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Are reliable, punctual, and professional
• Are committed to creating a safe and supportive learning environment
• A good standard of education, including GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent), is typically expected

Previous experience working in a school or with young people is desirable
