Job Description:

Cover Supervisor | Secondary Education. Location: Local Secondary Schools (Key Stages 3 & 4). Contract: Flexible / Supply basis. Salary: Competitive daily rates. Are you confident leading a classroom and looking for flexible work that fits your schedule? We are recruiting Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools during teacher absences. In this role, you will be the lead figure in the classroom, using pre-prepared lesson plans and resources to ensure learning continues seamlessly. While no planning or marking is required, your presence is vital to maintaining a calm, productive, and safe environment for pupils aged 11-16.

Job Responsibility:

Supervision: Oversee pupils and ensure they remain on-task with set work
Behaviour Management: Maintain a positive learning atmosphere in line with school policies
Student Support: Encourage engagement and assist pupils with their independent learning
Safe Environment: Create a supportive space and strictly follow safeguarding protocols
Flexibility: Work across a variety of subjects and different school settings

Requirements:

Confidence: Ability to manage and lead groups of students (Ages 11-16)
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and fluent English
Education: Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades 9-4 / A*-C) including English and Maths
Reliability: A professional, adaptable, and punctual approach to work
Compliance: An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)

Nice to have:

A degree, PGCE, QTS, or Level 3 TA qualification
Experience with young people
