Job Description:

Cover Supervisor role in a vibrant, inclusive, and highly-regarded school committed to fostering a supportive and stimulating learning atmosphere. The role involves supervising classes during teacher absences and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Job Responsibility:

Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, primarily using pre-prepared materials
Maintain discipline and positive behaviour within the classroom, following the school's behaviour policy
Manage the learning environment to ensure students remain on task and are supported in their work
Respond to student questions about the set work and provide encouragement
Collect completed work and leave comprehensive feedback for the absent teacher on class progress and any issues arising
Promote a supportive and productive atmosphere that encourages student engagement and respect
Report any safeguarding or behavioural concerns immediately and appropriately
Provide administrative support to the teaching staff as and when required outside of cover duties

Requirements:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build instant rapport with students and staff
Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive and orderly learning environment
Resilience and adaptability to cover a wide variety of subjects and year groups
High level of professionalism and the ability to act as a positive role model
A strong belief in the potential of every student
A commitment to the school's ethos and values
