Job Description

Justteachers is seeking a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in the Rochdale area, starting in September 2026 on a flexible, part-time basis. In this role, you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that pupils remain on task and engaged with pre-set work. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting students to complete their work in a positive and productive environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the class teacher
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students remain focused
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Provide support and guidance to students where required
  • Ensure a safe and respectful learning environment is maintained

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with young people
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Confidence managing a classroom independently
  • Ability to follow lesson plans and school policies effectively
