Job Description:

Are you a proactive individual looking to gain experience in education? We are recruiting Cover Supervisors to support a variety of secondary schools throughout the Sefton borough. This role offers the perfect balance of flexibility and professional development within a supportive school network. We have consistent requirements for cover across all key towns in Sefton, including: South Sefton: Bootle, Litherland, Seaforth, and Netherton. Central Sefton: Crosby, Waterloo, Thornton, and Blundellsands. Northern Sefton: Southport, Birkdale, Ainsdale, and Formby. East Sefton: Maghull, Lydiate, and Aintree.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise students across various subjects
  • Ensure pupils complete pre-planned work left by the absent teacher
  • Maintain a positive learning environment by enforcing school behaviour codes
  • Assist pupils with queries regarding the set tasks and learning materials
  • Register students and return completed work to the department head
  • Manage any immediate classroom emergencies according to school procedures

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children/young people (11-16 years)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Strong verbal and written skills to engage students effectively
