Job Description:

A secondary school in Colne are looking to appoint a committed Cover Supervisor to begin ASAP. The school will consider either Full OR Part time candidates. The role involves providing day-to-day and short-term cover across different subjects. The school is recognised for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support, and a learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their best. The school over the past year has gone from strength to strength.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver set lesson plans in the absence of the class teacher
  • Keep lessons on track and ensure students stay engaged
  • Maintain a calm and orderly classroom environment
  • Follow school systems for behaviour and safeguarding
  • Support pupils in meeting lesson aims and expectations

Requirements:

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) with experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults
  • A degree/graduate background with clear evidence of interest in working with children (e.g., voluntary experience, relevant degree, or steps towards teacher training)
  • Proven experience supervising groups or leading sessions with young people
  • Strong understanding of classroom expectations and safeguarding procedures
  • Two education or school-based references
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
