We are seeking proactive and dependable Cover Supervisors to support our partner secondary schools in Orpington. This role is ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching, ex-police or military personnel seeking a transition into education, or experienced teaching assistants looking for a higher level of responsibility. You will be the vital link that ensures student learning continues seamlessly when a permanent teacher is unavailable.
Job Responsibility:
Classroom Management: Maintain a focused and orderly learning environment, ensuring the school's behavior policy is upheld and students remain on task
Work Delivery: Distribute and explain the cover work set by the department, assisting students with queries across various subjects (from English to Science)
Safe Environment: Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students during the lesson, managing classroom transitions and dismissals efficiently
Reporting: Provide detailed feedback to the regular class teacher regarding student progress, behavior, and any completed work
Adaptability: Transition smoothly between different subject areas throughout the school day, bringing high energy and a positive attitude to every session
Non-Teaching Support: When not covering a lesson, you may be asked to assist with registrations, break duties, or administrative support within the school
