Job Description:

We are currently seeking a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to join our partner secondary schools with an immediate start. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and keen to gain valuable classroom experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff. You will supervise classes across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged and on task while following pre-set lesson plans.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring a calm and focused learning environment
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students complete the work set
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, promoting respect and positive conduct
  • Provide support to students where needed, answering questions and keeping them engaged in learning
  • Report back to teaching staff on student progress, behaviour, and any issues that arise
  • Ensure the classroom is left tidy and organised at the end of each lesson
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold the school’s standards at all times
  • Adapt confidently to different subjects and classroom settings throughout the school day

Requirements:

  • Valid enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Availability for an immediate (ASAP) start
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Two professional references covering recent employment or education
  • Strong behaviour management skills and confidence leading a classroom
  • Flexible and reliable approach, with the ability to travel to partner secondary schools
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Nice to have:

Previous experience working with young people or in a school setting is desirable
