Job Responsibility
Oversee Key Stage 3 and 4 classes during the short-term absence of their usual subject teachers
Present pre-set lesson materials with clarity, keeping students focused on their daily learning goals
Foster a structured and encouraging learning environment that promotes respect and active participation
Address classroom behaviour consistently and fairly, applying the school's established behaviour management policies
Provide constructive support to students navigating their set tasks, ensuring they remain on track
Gather all completed work at the conclusion of the lesson and ensure the space is left in good order
Compile clear, accurate feedback for the returning class teacher regarding work completion and overall student conduct
Move confidently between various departments across the school day, adjusting your supervisory style to different subjects
Requirements
6 months UK classroom experience is required
A degree or a relevant educational qualification (highly advantageous, though practical youth-work experience is strongly valued)
Current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Randstad)
UK Right to Work (Share Code, Passport)
Previous experience working with children or young adults in an educational, coaching, youth work, or mentoring capacity
A confident, approachable, and authoritative classroom presence to effectively manage groups of secondary-aged students
Availability to commit to working 08:30am to 15:30pm
