Job Description:

An opportunity to join our dedicated and passionate team in one of the largest secondary schools within Bristol. The role is to support the running of our Academy to create a structured environment for pupils to complete pre-prepared curriculum activities in the absence of their teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to gain further experience in a supportive school environment as part of their career development and offers invaluable experience.

Job Responsibility:

Supervise classes/groups of students to ensure they carry out work set by their teacher
Ensure continuity of learning
Support other areas of the school as appropriate and where capacity permits
Use the same systems as teaching colleagues to ensure positive learning behaviour and constructive, calm learning environments

Requirements:

Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships
Be a good team player
Experience of working within an education establishment
Good level of ICT skills, i.e., Microsoft Package
Ability to demonstrate flexibility and very good organisational skills
Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes
A good sense of humour
Ability to speak fluent spoken English (essential requirement per Immigration Act 2016)
