Elementa Support Services is working in partnership with supportive and forward-thinking secondary schools to recruit enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Supervisors. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the classroom, support students’ learning, and develop essential skills within a structured and rewarding school environment.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a focused learning environment
Support students in completing set work and maintaining engagement
Respond to questions and provide basic guidance where appropriate
Follow school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and health & safety
Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
Build positive relationships with students and staff
Requirements:
Experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work, or similar)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence managing groups of students in a classroom setting
A proactive, adaptable, and professional approach
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist)
Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration, or willingness to register
Nice to have:
Previous experience in a school setting
A degree or relevant qualification
An interest in pursuing a career in teaching
