We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant and inclusive school in Wakefield. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain on task and engaged with their learning. Job Responsibility:
Supervise students in the classroom and ensure they are on task
Deliver pre-prepared work left by the absent teacher
Manage student behaviour in line with the school's policies
Answer student questions and provide support where needed
Maintain a positive and orderly learning environment
Report any issues or concerns to the relevant staff member
Uphold the school's values and ethos
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students under your care
Adhere to all school policies and procedures
Assist with any ad-hoc duties as requested by the school
Requirements:
Previous experience working with young people
The ability to follow instructions and deliver pre-prepared lessons
Eligibility to work in the UK
Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)
Classroom Management: The ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with students and staff
Adaptability: The ability to be flexible and adapt to different subjects and age groups
Resilience: The capacity to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
