Job Description:

The Country Sustainability Manager is responsible for integrating and implementing the sustainability people & planet positive strategy, setting sustainability requirements, and leading a team of sustainability business partners. The role involves working across the business to ensure local relevance and adaption of global sustainability ambitions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Integration and implementation of the sustainability people & planet positive strategy
  • Be the voice of sustainability and set the people & planet positive requirements throughout the organization
  • Integrate the sustainability agenda across all markets, customer meeting points, stores and units
  • Secure country adaption of the global direction and ambitions
  • Co-create in the conception, exploration and business case development projects
  • Develop and maintain a culture of performance throughout the organization
  • Empower and engage all co-workers in creating a new IKEA with sustainability at the core
  • Lead a team of sustainability business partners and collaborate with key stakeholders

Requirements:

  • More than 5 years of senior experience (preferably retail market experience) working with strategic sustainability and/or business leadership
  • Understand how to transform operations to becoming more climate positive and contribute to a circular society
  • Balance and merge environmental, social and economic aspects to define sustainability
  • Highly motivated to share information using narratives to build trust, inspire and create an emotional connection to an audience with courage, joy and care
  • Strong aptitude to build and maintain a system of strategic business connections
  • Passionate about sustainability and know how to analyze (sustainability) data from digital sources to gain insights of IKEA customers for business purposes and decision making
