Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Country-Specific IT Manager to lead and expand our in-country IT team. This role is critical in managing and recruiting IT personnel, ensuring efficient technical support services for the Eastern Half of the World—including Asia / Pacific region, and, to a lesser extent, Europe. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of IT operations and demonstrate familiarity with operations in the United States, gained either through education and work experience in the U.S. or an equivalent background. Additionally, the candidate is expected to possess considerable technical expertise in end-user support, IT security, and networking infrastructure, serving as a hands-on local support resource and performing troubleshooting steps independently.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate in-country IT staff, fostering a high-performance team culture
  • Lead the recruitment process for new IT team members, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding, to support the growth and development of the department
  • Oversee the delivery of technical support services for users and business units located in Asia / Pacific, and as required, Europe, ensuring timely issue resolution and customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate with company-wide IT leadership to align local operations with global standards, policies, and best practices
  • Implement company-wide policies in the country-specific context, adapting procedures and practices as needed to comply with local requirements while maintaining organizational consistency
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee procurement of IT equipment and services as needed
  • Provide regular updates to senior management regarding IT performance, staffing, and project progress
  • Independently perform troubleshooting steps and provide Tier 2/3 support for complex technical problems within the local environment

Requirements:

  • 5 years’ experience in a related environment (multi-site, multi-country network with thousands of devices)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • advanced degrees or certifications are a plus
  • Proven experience in IT management, including staff supervision and recruitment, preferably within an international organization
  • Comprehensive technical skills and hands-on experience in end-user support, IT security, and networking infrastructure, including direct troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues
  • Familiarity with IT operations and business practices in the United States, ideally through work experience in the United States
  • Proficiency in English
  • Willingness to travel as needed within the assigned regions
  • Advanced level knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Strong background with enterprise cloud computing
  • Experience with Office 365 migration
  • Azure AD Identity Management experience, including context aware MFA and password self-service
  • Networking skills – knowledge of routing protocols, routing, switching and wireless design and configuration including firewalls, SD-WAN and troubleshooting
  • Security – Endpoint Detection and Response, Alert Management, awareness of Threat Actors and TTPs
  • Virtualization – Servers, Virtual Desktops with Graphics, Network Devices, DR and runbooks
  • Endpoint Management – at scale and with client systems scattered around the world
  • Deep OS architecture

  • Deploying and monitoring advanced networking solutions including SD-WAN, Firewalls and remote access solutions across a global footprint
  • Testing and deployment of collaboration solutions including cloud based virtual desktops, global file shares and proxies/zero-trust techniques to facilitate easier access for remote work

  • Project management experience, including documentation and organizational rollout
  • Scripting experience – PowerShell, python or other
  • Strong communication skills
