The Omni Area is IKEA’s strategic retail function responsible for delivering seamless, integrated shopping experiences across all customer touchpoints whether that is physical stores, e-commerce, pick-up points, and delivery services. This function bridges online and offline operations, ensuring customers can browse, purchase, and collect products through whichever channel suits them best. The Omni Area's core objective is to make IKEA more accessible, convenient, and affordable to customers across Australia and New Zealand, leveraging data-driven insights to optimise channel integration and enhance the end-to-end customer journey. As the Country Site Merchandising Leader, you'll be at the heart of our digital transformation journey, planning and optimising our digital channels including app, web, and social commerce. You will drive conversion, enhance the customer experience, and deliver commercial success.

Job Responsibility

  • Partnering with selling, marketing, fulfillment, and core services to ensure an integrated and seamless customer journey across digital channels, optimising for conversion and profitability
  • Strengthening range presentation and experience across digital customer meeting points and relevant pages with key stakeholders
  • Developing and implementing merchandising plans, including content, range presentation, and sales steering input for product launches, campaigns, and seasonal activities aligned with core area plans and commercial calendar to maximise omni sales potential
  • Tracking, analysing, and reporting on performance metrics such as customer feedback, product sales and margin, search behaviour, funnel-step conversion, basket-analysis, and related selling, using insights to optimise performance
  • Actively working with all key stakeholders in commercial and digital to secure integration, shared focus, and maximum impact

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with online commerce, sales, marketing or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in omnichannel customer journeys and understanding how commerciality and site merchandising drive seamless customer experiences across channels
  • Strong documented managerial and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a direct team while also driving collaboration and influencing outcomes across cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic merchandising plans that balance commercial priorities with customer needs, delivering measurable improvements in conversion and customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated expertise in improving profitability and managing complex digital operations, with strong analytical skills in tracking performance metrics and translating data insights into actionable optimization strategies
  • Strong ability to navigate and lead in a complex, dynamic, and continuously evolving business environment, driving change in a positive way to reach business goals while inspiring and influencing the many leaders and co-workers
  • Knowledge of the unique IKEA range and familiarity with IKEA values and brand, with the ability to lead the business through people and create customer value in everything you do
