Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for managing resources (people and money): Responsible for people planning within HF&RD. Coordinating and Planning Interior, Graphic and Shop Designer activities, as well as Support in External Marketing Events (running activities, re-furbishing and support to Expansion – as needed). Develop functional budget, ensure approval, forecasting, follow up and coordination with Commercial Manager to secure country goals and functional goals are covered
  • Responsible for positioning IKEA as a key home furnishing influencer in the local market and be a spokesperson for the home furnishing movement to internal and external partners
  • Secure the distinctiveness of the brand through the HF knowledge, HF solutions & HF experience across all meeting points
  • Act as a member of the Commercial Management Team and proactively contribute to the country business plan, commercial strategy and commercial calendar process
  • Contribute to the growth agenda through the specific knowledge and insights about Home Furnishing and Life at Home
  • Secure the integrated multichannel executions/output of the function and that solutions across channels drive inspiration and commerciality (in close cooperation with Selling and Marketing), in order to deliver to the business goals
  • Lead the Functional Reviews process and secure assessment of results to drive performance
  • Lead, coach and develop a high performing HF&RD team that will strongly contribute to reach the common goals (e.g. growth, profitability, brand positioning, customer experience). Lead the transformation of the HF&RD function in the country
  • Lead, support and develop the competence of the HF&RD Managers in Stores through Matrix relationship
  • Actively foster the interdependent leadership and active cooperation across all functions and units, within and outside Commercial, to secure integration, common focus and maximize impact (for example Digital, CFF (Customer Fulfilment), Expansion, Communications, Sustainability, BNOF (Business Navigation Operations & Finance), People & Culture)
  • Take the lead in driving an open and sharing climate, being a role model of the IKEA values where our co-workers are informed, engaged and empowered

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of home furnishing, retail design, visual merchandising, commercial presentation, and how to translate customer insights into inspiring and commercially effective solutions
  • Strong understanding of the IKEA Concept, Democratic Design principles, IKEA Brand Identity, IKEA Culture & Values, and how to consistently bring them to life across all customer meeting points
  • Strong understanding of the IKEA omnichannel reality and how physical and digital customer experiences work together to drive inspiration, conversion, and customer satisfaction
  • Good understanding of consumer trends, retail trends, and developments within home furnishing, lifestyle, and design that influence customer expectations and shopping behavior
  • Strong commercial understanding with the ability to balance inspiration, commerciality, growth, profitability, and customer experience
  • Proven ability to contribute strategically to business planning, commercial strategy development, and commercial calendar processes
  • Proven leadership capability with experience leading, coaching, and developing high performing teams in a fast changing retail environment
