Job Description

As the Country Business Risk & Compliance Manager for IKEA Australia & New Zealand, you will be at the heart of safeguarding our business whilst enabling growth and opportunity. You will lead the country Business Risk & Compliance function, ensuring we operate with integrity, meet regulatory requirements, and build a risk-aware culture that supports our vision of creating a better everyday life for the many. You will be a strategic, solution-oriented leader with a deep understanding of risk management and compliance.

Job Responsibility

  • Leads, reviews, supports, and secures the risk and compliance aspects of businesses and operations across the country, implementing standard processes and ways of working for the risk and compliance area
  • Creates and executes the country Business Risk & Compliance plan based on the country risk register, priorities, and business needs, ensuring solid integration and partnership with the business to grasp opportunities and enable a risk-based approach
  • Develops country-specific risk and compliance insights to identify and act on risks and business opportunities, providing management with relevant tactical and strategic insights to support business planning and decision-making
  • Maintains the country Risk Register to identify, assess, and manage risks at country level, documenting and reporting findings to Country Management and Country Matrix Leader
  • Leads Crisis Management work, securing that routines and response plans are implemented to ensure crisis preparedness throughout the country
  • Implements standardised and automated ways of working to create efficiency through 'right by design' and alignment throughout the country
  • Secures the implementation of effective global Business Risk & Compliance frameworks based on country risk appetite and context, business needs, local regulation and legislation, with sign-off by Group Business Risk & Compliance
  • Leads and develops a high-performing Business Risk & Compliance function and matrix in the country, based on set goals, KRIs and KPIs, resulting in an efficient, professional organisation with identified talents
  • Inspires a risk and compliance performance mindset, raises risk awareness, and promotes a risk culture throughout the country organisation, supporting growth and maximisation of business value

Requirements

  • University degree and/or proven experience in risk management, compliance, internal control, or internal audit
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in leading and managing leaders and teams
  • Extensive risk management knowledge with proven ability to assess and mitigate risks
  • Extensive knowledge of compliance procedures, including assessing, evaluating, and monitoring compliance with laws, regulations, and guidance
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and implementing change initiatives and managing stakeholders effectively
  • Broad knowledge in occupational safety, fire safety, security, and crisis management
  • A demonstrated ability to make well-balanced decisions, considering diverse business, people, and ethical perspectives
  • A strong sense of integrity and high ethical standards
