The Credit Portfolio Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for conducting credit reviews, monitoring the mortgage portfolio and other ancillary data to identify risk concerns in coordination with and for the Credit Risk Underwriting Management team. Position must establish and leverage cross-functional partnerships with key internal and external departmental staff to collaboratively contribute to Business strategies. The overall objective of this role is to manage Citi's real estate lending portfolio exposure to clients and counterparties globally.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute to the development of new techniques and improvement of processes and work-flows by applying in-depth disciplinary knowledge and integrating subject matter and industry expertise within Credit Risk Management
Review, analyze and prepare initial application packages for admission to the Correspondent program
Prepare annual recertification packages to assess each Correspondent’s ongoing program eligibility and risk profile
Monitor Correspondent performance and Repurchase exposure
Establishing and maintaining proper oversight and controls on the system of record for Correspondent files and data records using the Counterparty database Groupwide Broker/Correspondent Management System (GBCMS)
Monitors the output of the surveillance tools to examine incidents or items that require further investigation or escalation
Understand applicable credit policies, industry regulations and the requisite impact of those governance items to prospective new partners or product initiatives
Research customer and/or management queries using risk systems, data and support ad-hoc risk policy analyses and projects as required
Participate in developing, testing, and optimizing credit policies, ensuring consistency and regulatory compliance, and assist in the implementation of those policies, processes and other related initiatives
Support business unit goals by continuous identification of process improvements and efficiencies that reduce costs and improve customer service levels
Work with management team on prioritization and implementation of approved actions
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made by demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets
to drive compliance with applicable laws, regulations or internal policies
applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices
and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency to Credit Risk Management team
Requirements:
5-8 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of real estate lending policies and regulations, underwriting or compliance areas and Correspondent lender experience surrounding extension of credit and its risk analytics
Ability to exercise independence of judgment and autonomy, and to apply credit and risk principles toward business goals
Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a sense of urgency
Proven ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects
Proven interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills, and ability to operate with limited direct supervision
Expert knowledge of all Microsoft applications and other mortgage industry wide systems
Expert utilization of Statistical Analysis System (SAS) in a UNIX environment, SQL language, Access Data Base, Tableau, EDW and Risk DataMart to perform risk, financial and data analyses including profiling, sampling, reconciliation, and quality testing
Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
