Counter Sales Assistant

• Deliver excellent face-to-face and telephone customer service
• Assist customers with sales, enquiries, and product advice
• Process transactions accurately for both account and cash sales
• Keep shelves replenished and stock well presented
• Pick and prepare orders for collection or delivery
• Help unload supplier vehicles and check goods received
• Maintain high standards of health & safety and housekeeping
• Assist with stock control, including regular stock takes
• Support merchandising and store layout when required

• A positive attitude and commitment to great customer service
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Good attention to detail and a willingness to learn
• Previous experience in retail, builders’ merchants, or a trade counter environment is an advantage—but not essential
