Job Description
Counter Fraud Investigator – Motor Claims Birmingham/Leeds Permanent DLG is evolving. Across every part of our business, teams are embracing new opportunities and putting customers at the heart of everything they do. Whether you're already part of DLG or thinking about joining us, you'll have the chance not only to be recognised for your skills but also to build on them and be empowered to do your very best. What you'll be doing: Identify, investigate, and validate suspected insurance fraud cases, converting findings into measurable counter‑fraud benefit while effectively managing case portfolios within SLAs and process guidelines. Ensure all investigations comply with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., FCA, FOS, GDPR, ICO), maintaining high standards of governance and risk control. Manage customer expectations throughout investigations, providing clear updates on indemnity, liability, and outcomes. Apply expertise in fraud prevention and detection, handling outcomes such as cancellation, repudiation, settlement, litigation, or recovery, and referring linked or organised fraud cases to specialist teams. Control investigation costs by identifying risks and leakage, applying sound reserving practices, and escalating where appropriate. Use MI and tools to prioritise workload, liaise with external bodies (e.g., IFB, IFED, CIFAS), and collaborate with internal stakeholders to maximise fraud detection opportunities. Balance fraud prevention with fair customer treatment, resolve complaints effectively, and contribute to continuous improvement while upholding company values and culture. Our hybrid model offers a ‘best of both worlds’ approach. When you’ll be in the office depends on your role and team, but colleagues spend at least 50% of their time in the office.
