This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Manchester Mental Health Support Team. This university-based service is a multi-disciplinary team of Counsellors, Senior Counsellors, Mental Health Practitioners and other support staff providing a range of mental health support and psychological interventions for students at the University of Manchester.
Job Responsibility:
Work alongside the broader team to develop, embed and maintain effective working partnerships with colleagues, students, and other relevant stakeholders
Provide short-term psychological interventions to undergraduate and postgraduate students
Delivery of high quality psychological and mental health support to enhance student experience
Requirements:
Professional counselling qualification or similar (e.g., Masters in Counselling
Cognitive Analytic Therapy
CBT)
Significant post qualifying experience
Minimum of 1500 post qualifying clinical hours
Substantial experience of carrying a caseload of 5 or more clinical contacts per day
Keen interest in working in the HE sector with up-to-date knowledge of relevant psychological and mental health interventions
Significant training and experience in assessment, formulation and structured interventions
Ability to identify significant mental health difficulties and undertake thorough risk assessments
Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a diverse team
