Job Description

Uber is looking for a strategic and business-minded Counsel to join our Platform Product Legal Team supporting Uber Advertising, one of our fastest-growing businesses. This role offers a unique opportunity to partner with cross-functional teams to provide strategic legal guidance on Marketing Campaigns, Digital Media, Consumer Protection, and Advertising Law issues. We are looking for an exceptional Ads lawyer who has expertise in advising on complex ad tech, ad sales, and new media issues. You'll work closely with teams globally throughout Uber, including Legal, Operations, Sales, Product, Policy, and Comms to play a critical role enabling growth in our advertising business. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment, brings sound judgment, and adapts quickly to evolving business needs.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft and negotiate key contracts such as insertion orders for digital advertising sales, IAB addenda, IOs, ad agency agreements, upfront agreements, and programmatic sales agreements, that touch almost every line of business at Uber
  • Advise on issues arising from areas of law such as intellectual property, privacy, content regulation, consumer protection, and advertising
  • Provide legal advice to teams from the initial stages of product development to launch and from pitching ad clients to campaign flight
  • Work closely with cross-functional global stakeholders, including tax, finance, accounting, policy, and communications, to strategically advise.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of legal experience with experience advising on marketing/consumer protection or privacy issues OR Minimum four (4) years, including +1 year Uber internal
  • J.D. and license to practice law in at least one U.S. state
