Join Uber’s Mobility Legal Team as Counsel, Business Partnerships, and help drive the future of rideshare. We are seeking a strategic commercial attorney to manage the legal aspects of partnerships essential for Uber’s growth. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the legal frameworks for our mobility collaborations with fleets, vehicle manufacturers and technology providers, working in a fast-paced environment to translate business objectives into successful commercial agreements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage the end-to-end legal lifecycle of partnership agreements, from initial drafting to final execution
  • Partner directly with business leaders, providing clear, actionable legal advice and risk analyses to drive business objectives
  • Deploy sound legal judgment while reviewing product features and programmatic initiatives to ensure that risk mitigation considerations are factored into operational decisions
  • Design and implement innovative legal frameworks to scale our partnerships with transportation fleets, vehicle manufacturers, and technology providers
  • Help expand access to Uber’s platform to new use cases and growth bets
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Business Development, Product, Operations, Employment, Regulatory, Safety and Privacy to provide comprehensive advice and create solutions that allow the business to move quickly and responsibly
  • Build out negotiation playbooks, templates, and other tools to help standardize and manage the team’s deal portfolio

Requirements:

  • 5+ years legal experience OR minimum 4+ years experience + 1 year Uber internal experience
  • Private practice, government, and/or in-house experience
  • J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state

Nice to have:

  • 3+ years experience in commercial contracting
  • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Experience supporting strategic business partnerships
  • Proven ability to integrate business strategy, finance, and legal considerations into complex, multifaceted deals
