Mastercard is looking for an energized, strategic, business-minded product attorney to join its dynamic legal team as Counsel supporting the Security Solutions business across the EEMEA region. Under the direction of Senior Counsel, this position will provide regional product legal support for the SSO Product Development and Product Management functions in EEMEA.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as regional product counsel for SSO offerings in the EEMEA region
Support SSO product leads on product design, deployment, regulatory considerations, operational readiness, and go to market strategies
Advise on legal, regulatory, reputational, and liability considerations for new and existing SSO products
Support handover and transition processes between originating/ global product counsel and EEMEA execution
Research and interpret local laws, conduct jurisdictional reviews, and collaborate cross-functionally with subject-matter experts
Structure, draft, and negotiate technology related agreements
Participate in EEMEA and global SSO governance forums, processes, and workflows
Provide early issue spotting and deliver practical, business oriented solutions
Act as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to fast moving product and business teams
Assist Senior Counsel with various projects relating to legal operations, process improvement, or product enablement
Provide back-up support to other legal colleagues in the team
Develop, assist with, and execute global and regional initiatives in region
Requirements:
Strong experience supporting product development, product management, or technology-driven environments
Solid transactional training and experience (in-house or at an established, reputable law firm), with strong drafting and negotiation skills
Ability to operate effectively in an environment with incomplete information
Business-minded, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach to problem solving
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage internal client relationships and influence cross-functional stakeholders
Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and comfort expressing a point of view to senior stakeholders
Collegial and intellectually curious team member
Familiarity with technology, product development, cybersecurity, identity, or fraud-related domains is an advantage
Working knowledge of data privacy, cybersecurity, and intellectual property issues preferred
Must possess a Juris Doctorate (or non-U.S. equivalent) and be admitted to practice (or non-U.S. equivalent)
Experience working across multiple jurisdictions and time zones is a strong plus
