Job Responsibility

  • Track record in establishing and leading a QS team
  • Develop new business opportunities
  • Responsible for team’s quality project delivery, within specified timelines and budget
  • Develop and nurture existing client relationships
  • Provide expert quantity surveying consultancy services for high-value projects, from inception to completion
  • Strong experience in various sectors such as data centre, residential, education, manufacturing, commercial, industrial, and healthcare
  • Skilled in Cost Advisory work, working with inter-team collaboration within JLL
  • Lead and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors
  • Conversant in estimating, pre-contract cost control, pre-contract documentation, tendering procedures, post contract procedures, standards, and service levels expected, etc.
  • Deputize for and support the Director in the management and development of the office
  • Interview and recommend the necessary permanent and contract resources as directed
  • Resource planning to ensure the efficient utilization of staff
  • Drive staff suggestions and feedback on current practices for continuous improvement
  • Brief, direct, and supervise all QS to ensure client’s requirements are met
  • Ensure staff are appropriately trained and mentored
  • Ensure proper progress of projects and standards are maintained
  • Thrive under pressure and deal effectively with tight deadlines and high expectations
  • Oversight of the QS teams responsibilities and support where required to ensure deliverables are met to the standards expected by JLL

Requirements

  • A degree or diploma in a relevant field
  • At least ten years’ experience in a similar Cost Consultancy position
  • Good experience in the pre-construction as well as the construction phase projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technologically savvy
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Attention to detail
  • A great communicator with superb organisational skills
  • A structured and organised approach with an eye for detail
  • A willingness and aptitude to work in a digitized manner
  • Resilient and can deal effectively with competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Know how to negotiate to generate risk-assessed solutions, and how to handle ambiguities

Nice to have

  • RICS / AAIQS / SISV qualifications preferred
  • Relevant experience in a QS Consultancy firm will be advantageous
