Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost & Inventory Manager to support inventory accuracy, material flow, and order fulfillment within a manufacturing environment in Mountain View, California. This Long-term Contract position will lead inventory oversight across raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods while using NetSuite to keep transactions, reporting, and controls aligned with operational needs. The ideal candidate will partner closely with production, purchasing, sales, and warehouse teams to improve inventory visibility, reduce variances, and strengthen day-to-day execution.

Job Responsibility

  • Review BOM structures, routings / labor standards, work order lifecycle in NetSuite
  • Identify where costs are breaking (materials, labor, overhead) and why revenue vs cost mismatch exists
  • Assess inventory classification (raw vs WIP vs finished vs consumable)
  • Fix costing methodology (standard vs actual), labor + OT allocation logic and work order accounting flow
  • Clean up item master / SKU structure
  • Align finance and production on how transactions should flow
  • Create SOPs for work orders, inventory movements and cost updates
  • Own day-to-day cost accounting until stable

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience using NetSuite for inventory transactions, order management, and reporting
  • Strong background in inventory accounting and maintaining accurate inventory records in a manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge of inventory cycle counting, reconciliation, and audit practices
  • Experience with inventory planning, reporting, and data analysis to support operational decisions
  • Proven ability to track raw materials, in-process inventory, and finished goods with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across purchasing, sales, customer service, warehouse, and production teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and implement process improvements
