As a Cost Engineer, you will play a key role in analyzing and optimizing product, component, and manufacturing costs across our medical device portfolio. You will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, finance, and global production sites to identify cost‑saving opportunities, support value analysis projects, and contribute to continuous improvement of our cost management standards.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct value analysis and cost optimization projects for mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical components used in serial production
Perform detailed bottom‑up cost calculations and identify cost drivers related to product design, technology choices, and manufacturing processes
Prepare cost models, cost breakdowns, and target cost analyses for new and existing components
Evaluate supplier quotations, benchmark costs, and support negotiations by providing transparent cost insights
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Finance) to identify and implement cost‑reduction measures
Run and support value analysis workshops internally and with suppliers
Contribute to the development and improvement of cost engineering methodologies, tools, and calculation standards
Provide cost analysis support for ongoing projects in the product lifecycle and across global sites
Prepare cost reports, presentations, and summaries for internal stakeholders
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, electronics, production engineering) or a related technical field
3–5 years of experience in cost engineering, cost analysis, manufacturing engineering, procurement, or a similar area
Experience with costing of mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic components
Good understanding of manufacturing processes for mechanical, electrical, or electronic components
Hands-on experience with cost modeling or analytical tools (e.g., Excel, SAP or other ERP systems
Power BI)
experience with Facton EPC is a strong advantage
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex cost structures and provide actionable recommendations
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a global, cross‑functional environment
High level of self-organization, structured working style, and proactive approach
Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Willingness to travel (approx. 10%) to suppliers and production or development sites
