Job Description

As a Cost Engineer within Subsea Rock Installation, you turn client needs into clear and competitive plans. You work in a niche market where your ideas directly influence the success of complex offshore projects. Within our Offshore Energy business unit, Subsea Rock Installation protects and stabilises offshore infrastructure such as wind farms, subsea cables and pipelines. Your work supports projects that must perform in the most demanding environments. As a Cost Engineer, you translate client wishes into a solid and realistic cost picture for Van Oord. You take ownership of the estimating process and bring together input from engineering, operations and commercial teams. In this role, you work closely with a wide group of stakeholders while staying connected to a small and tight knit team.

Job Responsibility

  • You lead the cost estimation process and build integrated budgets for tenders
  • You translate client requirements into clear and competitive cost structures
  • You align with engineering, operations and commercial stakeholders to create accurate estimates
  • You assess risks and opportunities and use them to strengthen our position
  • You support project execution with calculations and insights when needed

Requirements

  • A Bachelor degree in a technical field such as Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Or a motivated MBO graduate with strong analytical skills and ambition
  • Affinity with cost calculation and Excel
  • Strong analytical mindset and a structured way of working
  • Good command of English, Dutch is a plus
