We are seeking a cost controller and accounting analyst to join our team in the transport industry based in Norfolk, Virginia. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the financial success of our organization, with a focus on finance and analysis, cost monitoring, and supporting decision making.

Job Responsibility:

  • Contribute to periodic financial planning activities, promoting a culture of financial accountability and operational efficiency
  • Produce monthly management results, utilizing software for thorough analysis and validation
  • Prepare detailed result reports that include variance analysis and actionable recommendations for cost optimization
  • Support and challenge business operation decisions using your financial acumen to guide strategic choices and improve performance
  • Develop and implement dynamic dashboards/KPIs to track performances versus business plans, supporting strategic decision-making
  • Drive efficiency and cost savings initiatives by supporting monthly/quarterly cost monitoring activities, providing valuable insights for resource optimization
  • Participate in miscellaneous business control-related duties and projects assigned by management, contributing to the evolution of our financial processes
  • Embrace a continuous improvement mindset, actively seeking opportunities to streamline and enhance financial processes

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Proficiency in Activity Based Costing and Job Costing
  • Proven ability in Compiling and analyzing Financial Data
  • Ability to build and manage Complex Financial Models
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI for data analysis and visualization
  • Experience in creating interactive Dashboards for data representation
  • Strong presentation skills to Deliver Presentations to stakeholders
  • Understanding of the Transport industry and its cost dynamics
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Accurately reconciling and accruing for costs in line with GAAP requirements
