Job Description

Cost & Commercial Lead – Building Services. We are delighted to be recruiting a Cost & Commercial Lead on behalf of one of the most respected and established organisations within the MEP Building Services sector. Following several significant contract awards, our client is seeking a commercially astute professional who has developed their career from a Quantity Surveying background through to Commercial Director or equivalent senior level. Experience within the Building Services industry is ideal, though candidates from related sectors such as Civil Engineering will also be considered.

Job Responsibility

  • Take overall commercial responsibility for multiple installation projects from contract award to final account
  • Manage the Commercial team, providing leadership, direction, and development
  • Oversee project profitability, ensuring robust profit and loss management across all projects
  • Prepare and present monthly MEP cost reports to the Directors
  • Lead the procurement process for subcontractors and suppliers
  • Maximise contract values and ensure ongoing commercial optimisation throughout each project lifecycle
  • Monitor and manage financial performance and risk to ensure consistent project profitability

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline (highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end commercial processes and financial management
  • Proven background in MEP Building Services or Civil Engineering within a commercial or QS capacity
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Confident working both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
