Tecolote is a trusted independent advisor providing consulting, analytics, and digital solutions to senior leadership and Federal government executives supporting the National Security mission. As a Cost Analyst, you will be the go-to person in support of large-scale DoD acquisition programs. We are looking for motivated teammates who thrive in fast paced, dynamic settings and can help our customers tackle some of their most pressing challenges.
Job Responsibility:
Perform a wide variety of cost and economic analyses
Assist the development and presentation of management level briefings
Perform parametric cost estimating, life cycle cost analysis, cost estimating relationships and model development, cost risk analysis, performance measurement (earned value), project forecasting and risk assessment, cost-benefit analysis, and software cost estimating
Provide support in the areas of strategy development, scheduling, market research, evaluation criteria development, pre-solicitation documentation review, RFP documentation, Independent Program Review documentation, cost estimates and key decision point’s preparation, and trade studies
Requirements:
Minimum of five years of experience with cost estimating such as learning curves, inflation, regression, Operations & Support estimating, statistics, cost estimating principles/ DoD acquisition policies
Working knowledge of the DoD acquisition and project management process
Ability to gather and analyze technical, programmatic, schedule, labor and cost data to support the development of various types of cost estimates
Ability to perform detailed and complex calculations, formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods
Ability to identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials and labor expenses
Ability to use computer software to calculate estimates and develop IGCEs and other cost related data reports
Excellent verbal communication, written, and quantitative analytical skills
Proficient in the use of M/S office applications, i.e., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences
Nice to have:
Working knowledge of ACEIT (www.aceit.com) is highly desirable
Program Office experience is preferred
Experience preparing cost estimates and budgets for major Department of Defense (DoD) programs and commercial off the shelf programs is highly desirable
