Job Description

For our international client (a modern SSC center in Katowice), we are looking for experienced candidates for the position of Cost Accountant. You will join the global Cost Accounting team, reporting directly to a Team Lead. In this role, you will work closely with EMEA and Asia manufacturing sites, focusing on matters related to physical inventories, variances to standards, issue identification, and the implementation of effective corrective actions. Your financial expertise and strong systems skills will directly support our business partners, ensuring maximum efficiency while you gradually onboard into the company's process standards. Job Responsibility

  • ensure the accuracy of individual plant manufacturing processes
  • track and analyze production variances, scrap, cycle counts and material variances
  • monitor outstanding work orders and ensure they are accounted for
  • provide feedback to the appropriate individuals and initiate corrective actions
  • work with the manufacturing floor to resolve issues before month end
  • communicate results to the plant FP&A team
  • perform month/quarter/year end activities in SAP
  • monitor closing settlement activities in SAP, settle orders and calculate work in progress if necessary
  • calculate, process and analyze in transit and other reserves to ensure inventory valuation
  • inventory accounts reconciliation
  • participate in the annual cost roll process
  • analyze year over year standard cost changes and the impact on the revaluation of inventory
  • conduct physical inventory audits, verify the procedures and analyze the results
  • participate in SAP go-lives and data validation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or similar
  • 3+ years finance or related business experience
  • strong analytical skills, systems knowledge and critical thinking
  • working knowledge of SAP or other ERP system
  • excellent skills in English
  • strong MS Office skills
  • ability for periodic short-term travel to plants (2-4 times per year)
  • impeccable sense of business ethics

Nice to have

  • knowledge of Power BI
  • prior exposure to finance activities in an industrial manufacturing environment
