This position blends accounting fundamentals with heavy data analysis, supporting high-volume production, inventory, and cost tracking processes. This is a direct-hire, on-site opportunity in the Albany, NY area.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze and reconcile production volume, inventory usage, shrink, and cost data
Process and validate high-volume transactional data, ensuring accuracy across systems
Manage weekly/monthly payments and reporting tied to production and procurement activity
Prepare large-scale monthly reporting, including regulatory submissions and detailed reconciliations
Review and resolve discrepancies across data sources (e.g., operational inputs, lab data, tickets)
Support month-end close with journal entries and account analysis (limited traditional accounting)
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to address payment and reporting inquiries
Identify process improvements and enhance reporting efficiency
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in accounting, cost accounting, inventory analysis, or a similarly operations-focused finance role
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with substantial datasets and detailed reporting
Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret trends, investigate discrepancies, and solve data-related problems
High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial records, reconciliations, and transaction reviews
Ability to manage responsibilities independently within a structured, metrics-driven work environment
Background in manufacturing, inventory-intensive, or high-volume operational settings is helpful, though not required
Familiarity with month-end close support, account reconciliation, and financial reporting processes
