Job Description

This position blends accounting fundamentals with heavy data analysis, supporting high-volume production, inventory, and cost tracking processes. This is a direct-hire, on-site opportunity in the Albany, NY area.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyze and reconcile production volume, inventory usage, shrink, and cost data
  • Process and validate high-volume transactional data, ensuring accuracy across systems
  • Manage weekly/monthly payments and reporting tied to production and procurement activity
  • Prepare large-scale monthly reporting, including regulatory submissions and detailed reconciliations
  • Review and resolve discrepancies across data sources (e.g., operational inputs, lab data, tickets)
  • Support month-end close with journal entries and account analysis (limited traditional accounting)
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to address payment and reporting inquiries
  • Identify process improvements and enhance reporting efficiency

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting, cost accounting, inventory analysis, or a similarly operations-focused finance role
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with substantial datasets and detailed reporting
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret trends, investigate discrepancies, and solve data-related problems
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial records, reconciliations, and transaction reviews
  • Ability to manage responsibilities independently within a structured, metrics-driven work environment
  • Background in manufacturing, inventory-intensive, or high-volume operational settings is helpful, though not required
  • Familiarity with month-end close support, account reconciliation, and financial reporting processes
