Cost Accountant

This position is in Greeneville, Tennessee. We are looking for candidates to relocate Your Role Develop cost estimates for new projects during the quotation and development process Compute cost by analyzing labor, material, and manufacturing time requirements Determine cost goals (target costing), development of cost calculations for cost-oriented quotes on the basis information at hand Provide costing information to support decision making and collaborate with other departments Continuously monitor costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction during the entire product lifecycle Monitor and report on cost trends and variances, identifying potential issues and proposing corrective actions Participate in design reviews to identify cost reduction opportunities while maintaining quality standards Work closely with project teams to ensure that cost targets are met or exceeded Develop cost models and cost estimating tools to support accurate pricing and profitability analysis Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing and ensure cost competitiveness Participate in the development of annual budgets and forecasts Ensure compliance with financial and accounting policies and procedures Develop and maintain accurate and timely cost data and documentation Analysis and evaluation of competitor's products benchmark Execution of allocated estimated/actual comparisons Support Sales and Purchasing with matters concerning price negotiations Your Skills Associate's degree in technical field and accounting or 4 years related experience 3+ years of experience in product costing, cost estimation, or related field preferably in the automotive industry Knowledge of cost analysis and cost accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems i.e. SAP Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Strong attention to detail and accuracy Extensive knowledge in Manufacturing processes, secondary operations and purchased parts Understanding lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvements What we offer Competitive pay Full comprehensive health insurance, dental, vision, flexible spending account Disability insurance 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off Huf celebrates diversity, supports inclusiveness and encourages individual expression in our workplace.
