Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to support accurate cost analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting for our client's frequent needs. This role will typically partner closely with operations and finance teams to monitor costs, improve margins, and ensure financial data integrity.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analyze and track product, labor, and overhead costs
  • Maintain and update cost accounting systems and standards
  • Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, and margin analysis
  • Support month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and inventory analysis
  • Partner with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting or related accounting role
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting methods and principles
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Nice to have:

  • Manufacturing or operations accounting experience
  • CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification
  • Experience with standard costing or inventory-heavy environments
