We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our client's team in Columbus, Indiana. In this role, you will focus on analyzing, managing, and reporting financial data to support operational decision-making. Job Responsibility:
Prepare and analyze standard cost reports to monitor and improve financial performance
Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify trends and opportunities for cost optimization
Manage month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliation of accounts
Maintain and update general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations on cost control
Review and verify the accuracy of financial data related to manufacturing operations
Develop and implement cost accounting procedures to enhance operational efficiency
Support audits and compliance efforts by providing necessary documentation and reports
Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to align with organizational goals
Provide detailed financial reports to management to inform strategic decisions
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in cost accounting
Preferred experience in manufacturing cost accounting and standard cost methodologies
Solid understanding of month-end close processes, journal entries, and general ledger management
Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct detailed cost analysis
Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting procedures
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
