Robert Half is partnering with a client in Torrance, California, to find a talented Cost Accountant for their growing manufacturing company! If you're a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant with a background in manufacturing, we want to hear from you. This is a great opportunity to make a significant impact by driving financial efficiency and supporting key accounting functions in a dynamic environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct financial analysis and validate monthly Gross Profit reports and General Ledger entries
  • Analyze overtime spending trends and staffing levels to optimize cost control
  • Assist in the development of the Annual Operating Plan and manage departmental budgets
  • Prepare and reconcile weekly KPI reports aligned with corporate goals
  • Handle general accounting duties including sales, bookings, backlog, fixed assets, and other accounts
  • Ensure customer collections are in line with payment terms and company objectives
  • Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities as needed
  • Oversee inventory and COGS while ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations
  • Support payroll and timekeeping functions for accurate reporting
  • Participate in month-end closing, internal audits, and annual physical inventory counts

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role
  • Proficiency in account reconciliation
  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliation
  • Familiarity with bank reconciliations
  • Advanced knowledge of general ledger functions
  • Ability to prepare journal entries accurately
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with month-end close processes
  • Familiarity with NetSuite software
  • Proficiency in Oracle software
  • Experience with SAP software
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
