We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our client's team in Winston Salem, North Carolina. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate manufacturing cost data while providing financial insights to support business operations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who excels in analyzing financial information and collaborating effectively with various departments.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct cost rollups and update overhead rates to maintain accurate manufacturing costs
Review and approve new and existing item numbers to ensure precise system categorization and costing
Analyze revenue recognition processes and provide detailed analytics on revenue trends and margin performance
Perform month-end close activities, including labor and benefit accruals and financial reviews for business units
Identify and investigate manufacturing variances, providing actionable insights to improve operational efficiency
Support business units by preparing financial reviews and delivering ad-hoc reporting
Research inventory discrepancies and costing anomalies to ensure financial accuracy
Assist in maintaining internal controls related to inventory management and manufacturing processes
Collaborate with production staff to resolve costing and inventory issues effectively
Requirements:
Solid knowledge of manufacturing accounting principles, including standard costing and variance analysis
Proven analytical skills with the ability to manage large datasets and perform in-depth research
Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs, and familiarity with systems like D365
Strong attention to detail, particularly in managing item setups and Bill of Materials (BOMs)
Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required
1-3 years of accounting experience in manufacturing or distribution environments is preferred
