Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in Tucson, Arizona. In this role, you will play a critical part in analyzing production costs, managing inventory valuation, and contributing to financial planning for operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of cost accounting principles to support strategic business decisions.

Job Responsibility:

Analyze production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, to identify variances and recommend improvements for greater efficiency
manage inventory costing and valuation for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure accurate reporting
collaborate with departments to prepare cost budgets and forecasts that align with strategic objectives
implement and monitor compliance with accounting standards and internal controls to enhance accuracy and reduce inefficiencies
prepare detailed cost reports using ERP systems to assess operational performance and identify opportunities for cost savings
provide insights into financial data to support decision-making processes and operational strategies
conduct audits of cost structures to ensure alignment with organizational goals
assist in the development and execution of budget processes to optimize resource allocation
work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
previous experience in cost accounting or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices
proficiency in accounting software systems, including ERP platforms such as Epicor
experience with financial tools such as Crystal Reports and ADP systems
familiarity with accounts payable processes and auditing practices
ability to prepare and analyze budgets and cash activity reports
excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate financial data and recommend improvements.
