We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join a mid-size manufacturing company based in Bloomingdale, New Jersey. Job Responsibility:
Manage and update standard cost systems, ensuring accuracy and suggesting improvements based on variance analysis
Perform daily inventory accounting tasks, including cycle counts, reconciliations, and adjustments to maintain precise records
Collaborate with operational teams to evaluate cost drivers, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support business strategies
Develop and present comprehensive cost reports to finance and production teams, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making
Support month-end and year-end close processes, focusing on inventory and cost accounting activities
Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements within manufacturing processes
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies while maintaining accuracy in cost-related reporting
Assist with audits and provide documentation for inventory and cost-related inquiries
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
At least 2 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting
Proficiency in standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of accounting regulations and principles applicable to manufacturing operations
